 TUITION, ROOM, AND BOARD: $42,000*
The fee for tuition, room, and board does NOT include fees for participation in
certain other Bridgton Academy programs. (see OPTIONAL PROGRAM FEES, below.)

Day Student Tuition: $23,500*

Application Fee - $50*
Payable with the student's formal application; non-refundable; not credited toward the tuition fee.

Enrollment Deposit: $4,200*
When a student is accepted at Bridgton Academy, parents will be asked to confirm the acceptance and foward a $4,200 deposit (the required desposit for students receiving financial aid may be less).  This deposit is non-refundable and will be credited to the tuition bill.  Bridgton Academy awards need-based financial aid for qualified applicants.

Deposit for School-Related Expenses (S.R.E. Account): $2,500*
This deposit is payable before the school year begins. It is a deposit for books, college application fees, SAT and ACT registrations, CAP courses, yearbook, SAT registration, equipment required for academic courses, and other school-related expenses. It is also a damage deposit.

The unused portion of this deposit, if any, will be refunded at the end of the school year. Any charges in excess of the starting deposit must be covered in advance by additional deposits to the student's S.R.E. account.

Optional Program Fees

Program for Academic Support (PAS):
The PAS fee of $3000* is payable in two parts: $1500* by July 1, $1500* by November 1. This fee applies only to students enrolled in the PAS program.

SAT Preparation Course: This $400 fee applies only to those students who choose to enroll in the SAT prep course and is payable before the course begins. This optional course usually begins early in October.

CAP course registration fees: Students enrolled in a College Articulation Program (CAP) course must pay a fee to the college or university granting credit for the course. Fees are set by the colleges and may vary to reflect the credit hours available.

*Fees are subject to change at the discretion of Bridgton Academy.

Refund Policy    The Academy has many expenses of a continuing nature such as faculty salaries and plant maintenance. In order to plan for and maintain services over the entire school year, it is essential that the annual income from fees be assured. For this reason, it is understood that students are enrolled for the entire school year and that no reduction or remission of the fee for tuition, room, and board or other charges can be allowed for absence, withdrawal, or dismissal, except as provided for under the school's Refund Policy. This policy is printed in full on the back of the enrollment agreement.

Financial Aid

At Bridgton Academy, we are committed to helping families provide this opportunity to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. To fulfill this goal, we comply with the financial aid policy of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), which is to provide financial aid to the extent possible based on a family's need, not on academic, athletic, or extracurricular performance.

Bridgton Academy Grants
Bridgton Academy grants are financial aid awards from the school which do not require repayment. This type of financial aid at Bridgton Academy is based on a family's demonstrated need, not upon the candidate's academic, athletic, or extracurricular merit. To determine the most equitable estimate of the money a family has available to contribute towards education costs, Bridgton Academy relies on a financial need analysis as determined by either the College Scholarship Service (CSS) or the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). This figure serves as the basis for determining financial need. If a family's estimated contribution is equal to or greater than the cost of attending Bridgton Academy, then the candidate does not qualify for financial aid. However, if the family's contribution is less than the Academy costs, the difference between the Academy's cost and the family's contribution determines the amount which the family needs. Bridgton Academy does not meet one hundred percent of this need; we meet a percentage of this need only.

Financial Aid Application Process
To be considered for financial aid, parents must complete and submit one of the following two forms to its processor as soon as possible. The information provided on these forms is used by two independent agencies to compute an estimate of what each applicant and his family can afford to pay towards the cost of one year at Bridgton Academy.

1) College Scholarship Service PROFILE form.
The PROFILE form is available online only at www.collegeboard.com. It must be completed and submitted electronically to the College Scholarship Service. Bridgton Academy's code number for the PROFILE form is 3269.

2) Parents Financial Statement (PFS)
The PFS is available from the Bridgton Academy Admission Office upon request, and also online at the NAIS website. It must be completed and submitted to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid. Bridgton Academy's code number is 1840.

3) Complete and submit signed copies of 2007 federal tax returns and all applicable supplemental forms.
Bridgton Academy receives a summary of the estimated family contribution in 10-14 days if either form is completed online, or in 4-6 weeks if the PFS is sent by postal mail. Please plan accordingly. Financial aid at Bridgton Academy is awarded on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, EARLY APPLICATION IS ESSENTIAL!

Although we do not have a deadline for applying for aid, the amount of aid we have is limited. If you will need financial aid, complete one of the financial aid forms as soon as possible; do not wait for an admission decision before applying for financial aid. When an applicant has been accepted for admission to Bridgton Academy, and his financial information has been received from either of the above agencies, the Financial Aid Committee determines if the family qualifies for aid and, if so, the amount of aid awarded by the school. Notification of a financial aid decision is made in a letter sent to the applicant.

If you have any questions regarding financial aid, please contact Chris Webb, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, by phone at 207-647-3322 or by e-mail at cwebb@bridgtonacademy.org.
